New Season is now here

31 August 2017

With the new season upon us Mansfield Town Ladies FC are about to embark on a campaign which promises much at all levels of the club.

The Ladies 1st Team kick off their season on Sunday 3rd September with an away match at Loughborough Students in the 1st Qualifying round of the FA Cup with the winners playing Lincoln Railway or Cosby Town in the 2nd Round. The league campaign kicks off on Wednesday 6th September with a home game vs Eastwood Ladies CFC, 7:30pm ko at Rainworth Welfare. With a number of new faces added by Manager Tony Palmer the 1st team are expected to be a leading contender for promotion from the East Midlands Premier League this season in what promises to be an exciting season.

The Ladies development team kick off their season on Sunday 24th September away at Eastwood Ladies CFC. Under new Manager Matthew Robinson the club has high hopes for progression this season wth an aim to secure promotion from the Notts Girls Ladies League into the East Midland League. Again bolstered by some new faces it promises to be a season of progression and success, as well as providing that key link from our u18s team to provide a pathway to develop our future 1st team players.

The u18s team had fantastic maiden season at u16s last year under the guidance of Manager Claire Burrows and Assistant Mike White winning silverware in the teams 1st season. This year the step up to u18s will provide the team with a tougher challenge but with a talented squad and a number of new additions it promises to again be an exciting season. In a key development for the club our u18s will now provide that important link to help our club develop and provide a pathway for our older aged Junior players to move into Senior football and produce our future 1st team stars. The u18s kick off their season on Sunday 10th September with a home game vs Southwell City.

Moving into our Junior Section we have two new teams for the coming season at u8's and u10's. Our junior section has been a huge success over the last 2 years which has seen the club grow from no Junior teams to now having 8 teams.

We welcome on board four New Managers for the coming season. Natasha Ingleby will combine her duties playing for the Ladies team with managing our u8s team, Adam Brown joins the club as manager of our new u10s team where he will be assisted by Karl Field, Matt Brookes steps from Assistant Manager of our u12s to now become Team Manager, and likewise Chris Yeomans steps up from Assistant to become Team Manager of our U13 Blues. It promises to be an exciting season for all our Junior teams as we continue to develop as a club. Whilst our primary ethos and priority is on developing the long term player, there is also much promise and optimism within the Junior section to achieve team successes this season also.

The Junior teams will begin their season on Sunday 10th September in the Notts Girls & Ladies league. Full details of each teams fixtures are available on each teams profile page on the club website.

It promises to be an exciting and successful season once again at Mansfield Town Ladies FC as the club continues to grow and go from strength to strength.
