Mansfield Town Ladies FC & Mini Kicks link up to promote Girls Football

22 September 2017

Mansfield Town Ladies FC and Mini Kicks Academy are both pleased to announce a joining of forces to create a pathway for local girls attending  Mini Kicks sessions to play for Mansfield Town Ladies FC. Mini Kicks currently run a number of sessions in the Mansfield and Ashfield area and with the current popularity of the Female game Mini Kicks are seeing an increase in the participation of girls under the age of 8. To get these girls involved in playing for a team the link will now provide the opportunity for Girls from mini kicks sessions to establish Mansfield Town Ladies FC's future new U8’s and u9’s team’s.

Mansfield Town Ladies FC has itself seen a massive growth and development in the participation numbers of girls in its own Junior Section. From not having any Junior teams in spring 2015 the club now has 9 junior Girls teams from u9’s through to u18’s, a total of over 120 girls, coached by its FA Level 1 and 2 Qualified coaches.

Speaking on behalf of Mansfield Town LFC club Secretary Andy Arnott said, “The link between ourselves and Mini Kicks is an exciting opportunity to further increase the numbers of local girls playing football for our club.. The link will provide a natural progression for a many girls currently with Mini Kicks to move into a team environment, creating a pathway for these girls to develop through the age groups at Mansfield Town ladies for years to come. The quality of the coaching provided by Mini Kicks will ensure that the players who join our teams will have already developed a strong technical ability and enjoyment for the game at a very young age. With the Support of our many Level 1 and Level 2 FA qualified coaches coupled with the experience of playing for our teams Mansfield Town Ladies FC teams we can continue to develop these girls even further to create the long term player and hopefully our first team stars of the future."
